December 6, 2002 Greetings Michael Taylor Happy holidays to all members of the BuyTrain Mailing list. I'm surprised sometimes by the number of companies and people who still believe that using credit cards on line carries more risk than using them anywhere else. If you are still trying to convince yourself or your company that online ordering would be of value, then here is a link to an article that might help you. I suggest you take a look at article 7 in the December 5, 2002 of the LangaList news. Here is a link to the Langa home page http://www.langa.com/. It currently has the December 5 issue posted on the front page. In my opinion, using credit cards on line is about as safe as using it at a normal retail outlet. Of course you need to exercise safe shopping habits just like you would anywhere else. As the article reiterates, there are risks in using your card everywhere. The difference is that we have grown up with the day-to-day risks offline and take them for granted. With a little planning and care, you can take advantage of online ordering. Here is a link to an old article about precautions to take online. http://www.mltweb.com/ec/fraud.htm#article Hope it helps. Mike T. This notice was sent to members of Mike's BuyTrain mailing list.
