To: Michael Taylor Subject: BuyTrain article; Requisition a New Job February 9, 2003 Greetings Michael Taylor and BuyTrain mailing list members. Think spring! ************************************************* Unfortunately I've seen too many friends and associates involuntarily job hunting. In many cases the disaster was predictable but people just didn't face the reality, and ended up starting the search totally unprepared. Sure, you have a lot more time to write a resume and figure out how to use email after you are unemployed. I guess it depends on how you want to spend your unemployment time; searching for a job or getting ready to search. I've posted a few thoughts on what we can do to get prepared in the latest BuyTrain news article; Requisition a New Job. www.mltweb.com/tools/buytrain/requisition.htm *************************************************** Also, in case you haven't been keeping up with the Pacific & NorthWest Forum, check out the latest newsletters at http://www.pnwforum.org/archive.htm Look for the February newsletter to be posted in the next few days. **************************************************** Do labor laws get you down? Studying for the C.P.M. exam and need a good explanation? Check out the latest Forum Factoid http://www.pnwforum.org/learn/factoid.htm ****************************************************** Make plans to attend the 60th Annual Pacific Northwest Purchasing Conference Your Future......Tying it all Together NAPM-Columbia Basin is pleased to announce the return of the Pacific Northwest Purchasing Conference to the Tri-Cities. It will be held on October 9-11, 2003 at the West Coast Hotel in Kennewick. Now is the time to start planning to attend. Most companies are planning their budget or have started on a new budget for FY2003. Get your request in early before that training budget gets committed to others. Send a reply e-mail with your address and contact information to guarantee you get a registration packet or watch the NAPM-CB conference web page, www.napmcb.org/60thPurConf2003.htm as the event draws closer for additional information on registration. What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in... and then the trouble started. (sorry, I just couldn't resist )
