Buying Into E-Commerce
Buyers and Sellers Working Together to Use the Net
Sponsored by the National Association of Purchasing Management- Hawaii
The
following workshops will be presented by Mike Taylor, C.P.M. December 6-7,
2000 at the Hawaii Technology Showcase
1801 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu, Hawaii - Hawaii Convention Center
Program 1: The E-Commerce Checklist.
Objectives:
Summary
B2B E-Commerce is growing at a torrid pace. Buyers and sellers are jumping into long e-Commerce agreements and implementing new processes just to stay ahead of the competition. We often write new agreements “on the fly” without a lot of experience, training, and tools to protect our companies.
This workshop provides a tool that buyers and sellers can use to ensure that the fast pace of e-commerce implementation doesn’t leave out important details. The workshop will review and discuss the “A” list of issues and topics to cover and resolve when evaluating and selecting an e-commerce solution.
Program 2: The Trading Partner Agreement (TPA)
Objectives:
Summary:
Long term agreements for e-commerce based on traditional contract terms are incomplete. They miss important provisions unique to web-based and on-line ordering. Elements such as the legal effect of electronic signatures, computer generated orders and on-line security are generally not covered in paper-based contract language. A simple solution is to include a Trading Partner Agreement in each long-term e-commerce contract.
Program
3: Electrify your Supply Chain
Objectives:
Summary:
Buyers and sellers spend too much time negotiating the best deals only to be sabotaged by poor delivery, communication and teamwork. Poor delivery or customer service can cost time, money and destroy a good relationship.
The best E-commerce deals include all aspects of buyer & seller relationships. We will learn to use new web based tools to:
· take e-commerce to the next level
· cut through the chain
· streamline whole processes
or we will be noncompetitive.
