The scent of thunder pricks the
senses,
brings every sound into sharp relief.
Each chirp and rustle raises a hair,
nostrils flair in crisp clean air.
So too does the scent of newly opened cabernet
on a cool spring evening.
A colorful label and purple-stained cork
ignites the pallet with anticipation.

Baby pine cones

A baby robin out of the nest and on dangerous ground
pretends he is a weed
A rose of a different color

The scent is even better than the color

Hard to see the multi-color cones at the top of this
spruce
